I've just finished the Fat-Bottomed Purse from Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet. It turned out really well. I got agitated with myself, though, because I ran out of yarn and had to buy a new ball to finish four rows. Guess I'll check gauge next time. I'm posting pictures over several posts, because they're huge and take FOREVER to upload. One of the disadvantages of having an 8 megapixel camera.

It's almost done in this picture. This is where I ran out of yarn. I had four rows left on the other handle flap.

This in the liner fabric I'm using. Normally, it's in pretty good shape when I get it. No torn, missing, or mangled pages. Not today. I just went out to check my mail after work, and what do I see in my mailbox? My catalog - looking like someone had hacked away at it with a pair of scissors or a paper cutter! My husband says it was done with a box cutter! What on earth?!?! And the idiot mailman DELIVERED IT THAT WAY! They're growing up so fast! It makes you realize just how quickly time goes by. I'm dreading the day my daughter starts high school. I'm not even looking forward to the day she starts kindergarten!

It doesn't help that my 10-year high school reunion is next month. I went to a friend's house after work today, leaving my 17-month-old home with my husband. He decided to paint some lattice work for our patio, and let her come outside with him. While he was painting, Chloe decided she wanted to help. However, she apparently didn't want to use a brush. She stuck her hand in the paint can when my husband wasn't looking. You can guess the result.

She was COVERED! I wasn't expecting my Options needles to get here so quickly! I only ordered them a week ago. I did have a little problem, though. I ordered the needle tags and there were two sizes missing and two of another size. I'm waiting for customer service to get back to me about that. And it'd be really cool if they made 16" cables. But, other than that, they're so cool! I love the case, and I got extra pockets! Now, I've got to get to the yarn shop to get the yarn to start my brother's bag.

I still haven't found a decent summer hat pattern for my daughter. But, DH found the color we want it to be, so that's a step. I have a lot of pattern books though, so I may just look through them again. It seems like just yesterday when she was born, helpless, unable to do anything at all. Now she's 16 months, walking, talking, and beginning potty training. I didn't realize the time went by so fast. I knit her a little sweater and a pair of pants, had them ready for (what's supposed to be) winter and everything. Well, I didn't realize she'd physically grow so quickly. By the time it got cold enough for her to wear what I'd made, she was only able to wear them 3 or 4 times before she outgrew them! She got a pair of shoes in November for her birthday, and by January her feet had already grown TWO SIZES!!!! I knew time moved quickly when kids are growing up because I have stepchildren I've been around since they were four and five (they're 12 and 13 now), but good grief!

Progress!

I've finished knitting the pieces of the first potholder!
